Kitchen friends
Years ago my mom gave me a set of kitchen utensils. And another 1 got broke this past week. So after 30 plus years these 4 are all I have left . I just could throw out my cake slicer after it got broke, so duck tape to the rescue until I can find a replacement I really like for it. I use a lot of non-stick baking pans so it has always been great to use in them. I really hate saying good bye to old kitchen friends who have serviced me so well. What is your favorite kitchen utensil that you would be lost without. Mine is my cake slicer.

I have a wooden spoon. Handmade, I believe, that was my grandmas. I love love love that thing. Sadly, many years ago the actual scooping part split right down the center. I couldnt bear to get rid of it, so now it rests in my hope chest.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about having kitchen friends. :-) I love that.
I love hearing about your spoon & so sorry it split. :(
ReplyDeleteI still may keep my cake slicer and just hang it on the wall after I find a new 1.
I'm so sorry your cake slicer broke :( I'd have a hard time picking my favorite utensil. I don't really have one that was handed down. But the wooden spoon and spatula Bernie made are very special to me.
ReplyDeletePenny, those are very special, Bernie is so sweet to have made them for you. I think I would be in trouble if Tex made tried to make me any thing like that, he doesn't do wood, It would be all metal. lol
