Lifes Ups Downs

Thought it was time I did a update.
So much has happen sense my last post.
I haven't been up to posting or getting on to Facebook much lately.
T's son & his wife just gave us a new grand-daughter on Sept. 26 and her name is Raven.
So that makes 4 grand- sons and 5 grand- daughters for us now.
The son that just had the baby has been in and out the hospital with pneumonia. He said he seems to be doing better now.

Then my son lost his real dad on Oct 13 and has had a hard time with it.
His dad didn't leave a Will that they could find or know of.
So he is trying to take care of everything now for his 1/2 sisters and himself.

Things are ok on the farm but our regaler work hasn't been doing very well.
So I haven't been able to decide if I'm up or down most days.

I've also had to start sending some of my chickens to freezer camp.
I can't afford to feed them all now that money is so tight for us, and prices for feed have got up so much more.
I really hate butchering day, I end up with a very down afterwards.
But know it has to be done, and that later they will be a few meals to feed us.
Right now I'm doing the roosters and 5 very mean hens who are just crazy.
I have 2 hens that will be here until they are gone from old age.
Lucky & Sunny are good brood hens and once they go broody for a week or 2,
I can put new chicks under them come spring time and they will raise them.
They are so sweet and my special girls.

Well I guess this is it for my update.
Thank you for stopping in for a little visit with us.

Books,Veggies,Mountains and Clouds.

These are the books I have been reading the past 1 1/2 months for enjoyment. I am down to 2 1/2 books left and then I'll have to get some more books to start on.  I love reading Anne McCaffery's Dragonriders of Pern books.

Here are some of my other books I've read. And soon hope to be adding more too. I love my Kindle reader, but still love a real book when I can afford it.

Made our own Metal Bed

We decided it was time to replace our old bed. After looking around for over a year to find 1 we liked and that was affordable we came up empty handed. Until my man decided he could build 1 out of some of his scrap metal if he had enough tubing to start with. And after checking all his metal stock. He started making us a platform bed. To go with the new memory-foam mattress he ordered a few months back.

The start of the bed

Bed done

It took a little longer to finish it because we lost power for 4 days the weekend he was to work on it
All done, it took the 2 of us to get it into the house and set into place in front of our old headboard.

And now the new mattress set into place to fill out were it was vacuum sealed.

Nice white sheets for a cool nights sleep.
I am so loving our new bed that only cost us the scrap metal, time and the new mattress. And 2.00 for the black spray paint to paint the frame.

Meet BB the little girl we decided we are keeping.

This little girl goes to her new home in 2 weeks, her owner works full time.
So I am making shore she is litter box trained before they take her.

Just love that little face
I got you now.

Mom had a hard time between deciding on my brother Barney or me. Me not being a biter helped. My brother just like to bite way to much. I am a good kitty I don't bite and am a bit shy. Mom really likes that.
